If the bike has only set since July the gas should not have gone bad already, I would suggest that you fill the tank up the rest of the way and maybe put some gas line/Carb cleaner in the tank and run it for 5 to 10 minutes again. If it runs with the choke only it's probably not getting to much fuel into the cylinder and should not do any damage. make sure that the shut off valve is open also.
