Which Helmet to buy?

I am looking for a new helmet and was just curious if anyone has a carbon fiber helmet. Just wondering what you folks thought about this helmet. I was looking at purchasing the helmet on eSwarm.com. Its under the category of sports and recreation

If they weren't so expensive I'd get one. They're good helmets compared to regular fiberglass helmets. Strong point is that their lighter in weight.

Beware of carbon fiber look-alikes, They have an image of carbon fiber, but they're not.

You don't necessarily want a helmet that has a super hard shell on the outside. A hard shell transmits more energy to the next layer than one that gives just a little and absorbs some of the impact. There is new research that the DOT standard, which allows more flex in the outer shell, is just as good as the SNELL standard, which rewards a very hard shell. In fact, the 2010 SNELL certification is going to be radically different than previous versions.
