NEED TO KNOW 2002 R6 engine into 1999 R6

I have to replace my 1999 R6 engine. I have a line on a 2002 engine. I have been told that the electrical is not compatible. Is that just the CDI box, rectifier and wiring harness? Will the 1999 gauges, headlight, tail light etc work with the 2002 wiring? AND what else is not compatible? will the rad be the same, will the fuel pump be the same?

Who has done this before?

It's bolt on. Everything is compatible.

how do you know this. It means the difference of me going out and buying a wiring harness, CDI box etc. I have to be sure. Have you done a 99 to 02 swap?

Dude, you're gonna get the same answers you got in the technical section.

The '02 wiring will not work unless you change the entire wiring harness and some switches.

The '02 engine (just the block with no electrical) will bolt in to the '99 frame. All you do is take the sensors and throttle bodies off your '99, bolt them to your '02 engine and you're good to go. So you are using all your old electrics on your new motor. You are just replacing the mechanical bits.

Now, if this doesn't make sense to you, I highly recommend getting this done by a shop. I don't think you have the technical knowledge to pull a swap.

I just pulled the motor and it is on the bench, I checked the valves cam chain, pistons and cylinder walls for scoring etc. It was quit easy. I just get 10 different pm's and emails from people who think or assume they know what they are talking about. Your post has cleared it up for everyone.

The R6 2002 engine is still carbed (The 02 GSXR"S were FI) SO IT WILL BOLT RIGHT IN AND HOOK UP WITH YOUR ELECTRICAL

I dont know how many more ways we can word it for you man......It fits! use everything form your 99 and just slap in the 02 mill! Maybe you want to pay for the advice before you trust it?

it'd be sad if its the engine from my buddy's stolen R6... fishy that a 2002 R6 got ripped off and sad to see that someone is putting it in another bike.

I suppose it'd be too much to ask if you could post partial numbers of the VIN here.
