I heard that INDIAN is going to try a comeback (again). Any one got the straight scoop?

I've heard that the new new Indian backers were just waiting for the old new Indians to expire their warranty period in 2007 to begin their maketing and selling. They did not want to have to honor 'old' warranty contract that comes with the name license.

Urban Legend or fact?

I guess like most, I thought all the Indians (classic or revival) were good looking sexy machines.

Ride safe & long,

Yip, their new factory is in Kings Mountain North Carolina, you can reserve a 2009 model now. It wont let me post a link to their website.

Here ya go!

I'd take an Indian over a HOG any day....or a Victory! I like knowing the bike I ride is not gonna be on every road I go down...

That chief Custom is just my style. Does anyone know what the engine displacment is on that? Has anyone seen a conversion kit to make the newer indian a suicide shift? If I could switch a chief to a suicide shift I would say forget my harley dreams!

It's too risky right now, Indian owners were left high and dry when they folded last time. Same with Henderson-Excelsior. Give it a few years to see if they're going to last. Victory at least had Polaris deep pockets to keep them afloat past their early mis-steps. Now they're doing great.

Just a thought - if you ALL wait a few years to see how they're doing, your waiting might cost them sales that would keep them afloat and be successful! :D I'm joking, of course, but when you think about it, that might be the case!

You've been reading Catch-22 again, haven't you. :D

As Scotty said on Star Trek: Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. Or something along those lines. After a company screws a lot of loyal customers over, they don't deserve to be in business. I read they are waiting until the warrantee periods expire on the old bikes before releasing new ones, so it sounds like more of the same. While I think the bikes are beautiful, I'd go with Harley or a metric because I'd know the company will be around when I need service or parts.
