Default Range & fuel reserve

Hey all... I'm just starting out my season and getting used to my 2000 929RR but was wondering if someone can tip me off to the average distance I should be able to cover on a full tank, and how far I can go when the low fuel light comes on?

Google says about 300km/tank, and 4L is the reserve level... So if I ride it nicely, about 66km should be the max I could go on reserve. That sound about right?

I've topped up pretty early just in case, but it'd be nice to know

yah, the magic number on bikes seems to be 300km/tank. More if its 500cc or under. This number reduces dramatically if you alwasy ride you bike up where all the power is.

Yea and the DVP seems to be more stop and go than anything else.

I'll say about 200/225km with full tank, in reserve 30km down hill

The volume of the tank is what matters and there is nothing magical about that.

Example: my Virago holds 12L with a 2.6L reserve. The "magical" number for my bike (750cc) is 160km give or take a bit.

Bah! I guess thats about the only disadvantage to the blade over my old EX500... I can't even really tell visually how much is left in the tank due to the layout/design of it.

I'll stick to the 225-250 mark and if the fuel light comes on I'll aim for a gas station ASAP...

Thanks guys!
