I picked up a Gsx-r last weekend sold as a 2001 Bandit with the 1200 cc engine. It was evidently a streetfighter/race bike. Turns out the frame is from a 1992 GSX-r 750 but I am having a real hard time proving the engine to be a 1200. I need to order parts and found Ron Ayers site to be really helpful. My big question to the forum is:By looking at the engine can you tell the difference between a 750, 1100 or 1200 GSXr? If so HOW can you tell the size and year? And for the smart ones I have already called the block number in to Suzuki and it matches 22 different models ~from a 250 all the way up to the 1500. Rumor has it that some folks can count the fins and tell you year make and model? Rumor or Fact?Thank you all in advance for your help! Ride'm Hard! |
