Default Anybody tried AirHawk seat cushions ?

I've reviewed extensively several options offered. I'm fed-up of getting a sore butt after a 2 hour ride on a Honda stock seat, same for my passenger.

I'm wondering if any forum members tested the AirHawk seat cushions, which appear to be often more efficient and less expensive than custom seats and gel pads. What do you think ?

May I have this honor to see your Honda MC?
Thank you!

Sure, I have large pictures posted on http://www.vintagebike.co.uk/Bike%20Directories/Honda%20Bikes/pages/Honda-CM400T-80.htm
My alias on vintage bike forum is sono.

After this picture was taken, I've added a small windshield for comfort at highway speed and a set of leather saddlebags.

Well ... thanks for sharing.

Your bike is maintained very well. It's looks so new and "strong" I shall say.
Must be a powerful bike.
My neighbor has a similar bike, but always .... with dust.

Thanks, It really does what I want to do: commuting to work every day, except significant rain. Speed limits are 100km/h up here (60mi/h). This bike hits the red line at 140km/h (90 mi/h). This is comparable to a Burgman 400 scooter top speed, but being equipped with a manual transmission, it is much easier to pass a car by shifting down if acceleration power is needed fast. Up here in Quebec, If I did own any bike above 400cc, it would cost me an extra 300$ for annual registration, and I really don't need this extra power. I wish there was more choice in that class, because a 250cc is not sufficient for my 240lb, 6'1".

You can bet I did shine it up for the pictures. The dust and dirt from commuting every day would show up. It is not used as a showroom or museum piece, but as affordable, reliable and fun transportation.

Front brakes caliper is a single piston, I wish I had the twin caliper version (CM400C or CM400 1981) for more efficient emergency power. Other than that, I love this motorcycle and I have an identical 1979 (fully functionnal) I'm using for spare parts). I've replaced both Chen Shin tires (on picture, to avoid) by OEM dunlop (rear) and Bridgestone Accolade Classic (front) and it really makes a big difference.

I have one, it might or might not help, depends on you.

Hears the deal on motorcycle seats:

What makes you uncomfortable is blood being cut off from pressure points between your posterior and the seat. To make a seat more comfortable your weight needs to be spread out over a larger area, the CM-400 seat is narrow with a high crown so the weight of your upper body is focused on a small area. The Air-Hawk will help distribute you weight more evenly over the relatively small contact area of the seat.

If you look at custom seats like Meyer, Russell, Corbin and the like all of them have a wider profile and in some cases are much flatter to help spread your weight over a larger area.

I just purchased a 3/4 inch thick raw gel pad from JC Whitney to install under my seat cover on my little NX125. It cost me $50.
