Hi Guys and Gals,
I just joined this forum and look forward to participating in it. I have a Honda ST90 I'm trying to get up and running. It has a brass fitting on the outside of the carburetor that pulls out and stays out until pushed back in. It originally had a black knob on it but mine is long gone. I saw this knob on another ST90 and it has some unclear printing on it. From what I could read it had the words "alt" and "over" and "pull". My guess from this is it may be and adjustment for running at high altitudes. Does anyone have any knowledge or esperience with this? Thanks. bwwind |

That's it. That is a knob for altitude compensation. If you ride over 5000' (as I recall) you were instructed to pull that knob out. It made the mixture slightly leaner. Later bikes like my '78 CT-90 had a different carb and didn't have that knob.
A great source of parts for these bikes is here: http://www.dratv.com I get many parts from them. You can probably get that part from them, the above diagram is from their website. |
