So my family is filled with harley riders and soon i will have one of my own. I have been looking at the Nightrod and i just wanted to hear for you guys if they are worth the money. Any info about them, like handling, would be great.

I rode one and I hated it. I thought it was extremely uncomfortable, and I think they're ugly. But that's just my opinion. You need to find one and take it for a test ride or at least sit on it and make your choice from there.

I've never ridden one personally. A good test ride should tell you how it feels.

Always have a test ride what others say are great you may hate and after all it is your cash you are spending

The Nightster XL1200N is a bike that you either like or don't. It's an old school look and to me, very refreshing in a market filled with the likes of the technology driven modern ride. I love the gators on the front legs and the spokes look very cool. The bike rides a bit rough but this is to be expected when we consider the ride height and suspension set up. The bike also has a limited lean angle hence the reason you will find pins on the pegs and you will drag them, trust me. I would rather they put forward controls on the bike and it's nice they left room for the upgrade to a 4.5 gallon tank while running the same factory seat. For the short run or day trip it would be very cool. Yeah, they are a bit pricey to me but this is what the market will bear as the are selling like crazy.

I think he means the V-Rod :)

A friend I work with totaled his Nightster last weekend. He hit a pothole and ended up with the rear wheel launching sideways. Bent the frame and did a lot of other damage. The bike had just got out of the shop for the 1000-mile service.

He bailed off in time to avoid the highside and only ended up with a little rash on one arm. He's ok and that's the important part. The bike is insured.
