So, based on price I'm deciding between the 883 Sportster and the 1200 Sportster Harley. Would you buy the older 1200 or the newer 883? They're the same price. The 2005 - 883 has 1200 miles on it, but the 1996 - 1200 Sportster has 26K miles on it. But, being as the 883 might be referred to as a chick bike, I just wanted some opinions.

Not so much chick bikes, but the Sportsters are considered"Starter Bikes". Also, they aren't very comfortable. You can get a better, more reliable, and much more comfortable bike for the same money if you don't insist on getting a Harley.

If you have your heart set on a sportster, my advice is what was told to me: Get the 1200, after 6 months the 883 will seem weak and you will just have to turn it into a 1200. Of course, it all depends on your riding level and love, but i got the 1200 and am glad. An andrews 8 cam and a thunderheader exhaust: works for me. |
