Congratuations. Working on aluminum threads can be scary at times.
The oil filter bolt on this model has a very small head indeed. There must be a reason for that... Honda engineers may have prevented people to overtorque the bolt and cause major damages to the engine.
I suggest you get a set of new O rings to achieve a tight seal on the oil filter housing with only the specified torque on the oil filter and oil drain. Forcing a seal on worn out O rings was indeed asking for trouble.
