Default 1985 Honda CB650SC Hawk Battery Charging Issues

Hey guys, I'm having trouble charging the battery of my 85 CB650SC Nighthawk. I connect my tender to the battery, and get no charge. I have no idea why it won't charge, because when i bought the bike a month ago it charged just fine. Could it be because the tender I'm tryin now is a H-D tender and my bikes a Honda? I don't think this is the case because electricity is electricity, but I'm out of ideas. All battery cables are connected. Manual says it could be the fuse board? I just don't get how it could have blown without being touched since the last time a tender was connected to it, except for the ignition switch replacement I just performed. Any help would be great!

If the tender has a fuse I would check that first, it might have popped. The battery might be bad also depending on how old it is. I've had them last years but I've also had them last months. Do ya have another battery charger?

nope, its not even mine, its my stepdads, he tells me it works fine. is there some way i can test my fuse box? i dont want to replace the battery (cheaper) just to find out its fine and have to go buy the more expensive part, but on the same page, i dont want to buy the more expensive fuse box just to find out its fine and it needs a new battery.

If the tender works fine then I would say that's ok. I don't think battery tenders are really made to charge a dead battery but more maintain one that already has a charge in it. If you have a volt meter you can see if the battery has any juice in it. Fully charged it should have around 13.5 volts even though it's stated its 12 volt. I don't think your fuse box would be the problem why the tender doesn't work.

its not that it would cause the tender not to work, but more make the battery not take the charge, and im just going by what the manual says

Hell-if-i-know. Gonna go ahead and replace the battery though first, its cheaper than the fuse box so hopefully thats where the problem lies.

If you take the battery to auto zone or someplace like that they will load test for free and they will charge it if you ask them to. Also a lot of chargers have a voltage or resistance sencing circuit which will not let a charger kick on if a battery is completly dead.
