1989 Honda GB500 Tourist Trophy motorcycle 9k miles - what is it worth?
I am working on a deal for a 1989 Honda GB500 Tourist Trophy motorcycle with 9000 miles on it. I am trading a'95 Ford pickup that is worth $3000.00. I know this bike is rare and collectible. Kelley Blue Book lists the retail at $3865 and trade-in at $2650. NADA gives a high retail value of only $1680. The few GB500's that I can find for sale have prices ranging from $3500 to $5000. This model was only imported in 1989 and 1990. I plan to make the deal if I can sell the motorcycle for more than the value of the truck. My husband wants me to make sure there is a market for it before I trade.. The truck is an extra vehicle that we drive occasionally. Should I make the deal or not?Response to"taxicabphd"- I don't know how reliable"WIKIPEDIA"is, but this is part of what it says"Honda GB500 - GB's were only imported for two years, 1989 and 1990. By the time the new inventory was gone from the showrooms it had already become known as a cult bike. Today, a good GB sells for as much or more than it did new, in 1990."
