i'm looking for a first street bike and i found a 1995 honda CBR900rr
i was wondering how this bike would be for a first bike?? i'm not new inthe bike world (dirtbikes) i know it is fast but i'm not going to get all over it and i want a bike so i have to up grade in a few years i also want an older bike so if i drop it it wont be so bad thanks |

Why not an older 600? I wouldn't recommend a 900RR as a first, it might not be on par with today's liter bikes, but it certainly wasn't slow... And back when they first came out people were killing themselves all over the place with them.
I don't see why a few year old 600 would be a bad choice, there's not a chance in hell you will every exploit even the 600's capabilities. So in reality, there's no reason for you to have to move up or anything. But ultimately you are going to do what you want. |

I'll second that. I rode a '95 900RR for awhile (in for repairs, dude let me ride it while he was out of the country). The're heavy, and like to stand on there nose at the slightest provocation. Fast, twitchy, and not very comfortable.
