I'm wanting to purchase an '08 mean streak, love the style and the looks of the special edition paint. Thing is I haven't been on a bike in 6yrs. The last bike I owned was '95 cbr600 back in highschool. Do you think it's to big a bike to get after that time span. I'm not a small guy to begin with...6'4 200lbs. Just would like some feedback. Thanks.

Hello Smiles. I should probably be the last one to give advice on this subject as I dumped mine several times after I bought it. But I would buy it if I were you. Mean Streak is a great bike. Just take it easy starting out and don't hammer the front brake if you see a squirrel.

The handling is excellent. I installed Progressive 440's on rear and springs in front. Stock bike sounds good, too. I removed the stock exhaust and mounted Muzzy 2 into 1. Sounds even better and not too loud.

Another question would be, how is the overall ride. I mean how comfortable is it say on a 2hr road trip? I've sat on the bike and the seat and riding position seem pretty good....does your ass get numb if you ride it long distance lol. Last question hows the throttle response on the bike? Is it touchy or have in lag time or is it when you crank it..it goes?

You'll have no problem handleing that bike smiless81, just take it slow and get used to her. I'm sure you've probably heard this a lot but just in case - - The MSF have some great re-fresher courses. My neighbor is / was in your same shoes and he told me that it was the best thing he coulda done. Good luck and ride safe

I can do long trips with no problem. I did not like the stock seat and replaced it with a Mustang seat. There is no lag time on the throttle but it is harder to control than other bikes I have owned. You have to slip the clutch more and be careful at low speeds or it will get away from you. |
