Can you put a wider back tire on the 2008 Kawasaki Ninja 250r?

I like the looks of a wider tire in the rear of the bike. I am seriously considering purchasing a 250r, but I'd like the looks a lot more if it had a wider back tire. Is that possible to do or even a good idea? What are the pros/cons to a back tire? Does anyone know how much one would cost if it is possible? Riders help! Thanks in advance.

wide tyres tend to make handling more difficult in bumpy corners, because the point of contact on a bump can be further away from the centerline of the tyre, causing the steering geometry to change further and the bike pitch about more. this can be dangerous with limited adhesion or bumpy corners-loose gravel etc.

The first guy is wrong. Wider tire equals less handling. It would be more difficult to corner on a wider tire. It only makes a different really with a jump from like a 170 to a 190. A 140 to 150 jump shouldn't make that much of a difference. They are both very skinny tires.
