Is a Kawasaki Mean Strek a good first bike?

I found a Mean Streak for a really good price. I was/am looking at it for my first bike. I will take the MSF course before I ride and, being military, will always have full safety gear on as I am required to. Honest opinions are appreciated.As for the guy who mentioned size and anyone else wondering, I'm 5'10"and about 185lb.

It's a quick bike but not bad, I would be very careful because when you twist the throttle it will go FAST.

If you are a bigger guy, I would say go for it, You can always get ahold of cheap 70's jap bike to learn on, for a few months, then sell it and make atleast your money back....I would have to agree, they are fast.....

It feels heave and solid. Will not corner with a sport bike. Mine loves 200 Km 130 MPH or is it me that does.
