List,
Looking for help with a project to be run at the Bonneville Salt Flats during speedweek 2001. We are a 10 year veteran team at Bonneville, and this is a new project to be ran this year. Going after 650cc records in the class MPS-F (Modified Partial Streamlined - Fuel) of 168 mph held by Scott Guthrie. To attain a record on the Salt, you have to maintain an average speed over a course of 3 miles, these ARE NOT peak velocities. You must sustain your speed for a flying mile then if you qualify for the record (which is beat the exsisting record) you must back that run up with another run for the same flying mile, then the average of these two is your actuall speed and must exceed the current record. The base of the project is a Nitrous Oxide Injected 1992 Kawasaki 600D. Aftermarket ZX12R body work has been fitted for that aerodyamic edge. A Schnitz (Top Gas) progressive nitrous oxide box is being installed and will control the ignition and nitrous. If anybody is interested please visit the following site. http://project180.landracing.com Actually I am really glad I joined this board, such an active forum for all types of racing and manufactures forums. Looks like alot of neat people and lists to join in on. thanks, Jonathan Amo http://project180.landracing.com |

Jonathan Thanks for the kind words about the site. :) If you want to send me a write-up on the attempt I'd be more than happy to post it in our "News and Rumors" section which is also shown on our front page. :) P.S. Go Team Green! |

If you wanted the aerodynamic edge, you should have used
a Hyabusa for your bodywork.......that is why it is the fastest production bike as it is more aerodynamic than the ZX12R even though the 12R has more HP..... just a thought....
