If you already tried a new plug and it didn't help have the coil tested and throw some new points in it. Usually it's one of the two if it ain't the plug.

You got a bare wire grounding out under the tank I believe. Look for some rubbed wires. If ya had spark before you put the tank back on and now you don't that kinda makes me think a wire is pinched.

you dont think its blowing condensors like it was doing before or the ignition switch having to do somthing with it? there is one wire that isnt connected its a white wire. it comes from the points and magneto harness but it has no open connector to connect to.

Without looking at it and having a wiring diagram I have no idea.

If I'm correct the ignition switch is between the gauges, so there are a number of pinch points where the wiring goes back onto the frame. It sure sounds like a short of some kind. Which could blow the electrical components.
