Are antique Jap Motorcycles restored worth much?

I like Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and Kawasaki motorcycles from the 1960s and 1970's and would love to restore one or two but not sure they are worth it.ducatisti: I was always told if a motorcycle was 25 years old or older it was an antique. Antique - classic - etc. is in the eye of the beholder.

As far as the Antique Motorcycle Club of America is concerned, your cycle must be 35 years old to qualify for judging in a sanctioned show.

Addressing the "Jap" motorcycle question, value has to do with how much demand there is for a particular item, be it beanie babies or original sand-cast Honda 750's.

Some cycles are collectible, some are not. Check ebay and search for auctions etc to see if a particular cycle is worth restoring .

Right now I am restoring a 1979 TS 125 Suzuki for a gal. This was her first new motorcycle and it is worth it to her to have it restored to like new condition. Would you think it was worth doing? Probably not, but that is the beauty of it; it does not matter to her what you think it is worth.

Bottom line - if you have to ask if they are worth restoring, you probably do not have enough knowledge to start restoring older Japanese motorbikes for profit.
