Default Any ideas re" GN400X carbs?

Curious.....I recently bought a GN400X from a guy who had it in covered storage for about 13 years. The carb on it is a Mikuni BS36SS that is no longer made and thus parts are hard to get or expensive and the carb is NOT user-friendly. Any ideas what carb I can use in its place and what the jetting might be? Thanks!!! WilleyG82

Thanks but I'm not sure what you need a pic of........? the carb or the whole bike? It's a "400cc thumper" circa 1981.
(same engine as the DR400 motocross bike).
Thanks for the offer!.....WilleyG

hi i have the same bike and the same problem, i got my bike started but the throttle positiong mechanism on the carb is ruined so i cant position the throttle and even after cleaning my jets and carb it wont idle. i was wondering if i could use a more modern carb for it or atleast a better carb.
