the key word is"Quality"- go Japanese or European- among jap, Honda is best quality. European bikes are great, but more pricey. H-D is a status symbol.

If you are looking for a street or cruiser bike the best would be Harley.

The quality of most bikes on the market today is pretty good. Some are just a little higher maintenance than others. 1st on your list, Triumph. People who buy Triumphs like Triumphs and nothing else. Good bike but not a big dealer network. Something to think about when you need service or parts. Same goes for Ducati and Victory. With Harley's, dealers everywhere, parts, both OEM and aftermarket, are abundant. Endless T-shirt racks. Best resale value. As for Jap bikes, I'm a big fan of Jap sport bikes but not Jap cruisers. They are good, dependable, low maintenance, great for daily riders. But the resale isn't there. And if you want to add accessories or go-fast parts, they have to be for that exact bike. Because the jap companies like to change parts every year. And most of all, It's a bike that's trying to be something it ain't, a Harley. But for Quality and low maintenance, the Japs have it.
