I would strongly suspect carb issues

well here is an update ..the info i recieved about the virago was false. it doesnt stall at all. i have had the bike a week now and started to ride and get a feel. the only thing i feel is when it is cold its like its not getting complete spark or its over choking. the carbs have been redone twice as per the previous owner. today i plan on pulling the plugs. will the pick up coil or the ignitor cause this problem.

Probably not. Electrical problems usually manifest there ugly head at high RPM. Low speed problems are usually carb related. Warm the bike up. Shut the motor off and pull one of the plug wires. Start it back up. Repeat for other cylinder. This should give an indication of which cyl is causing problems. Wipe your finger on the inside of the mufflers when cool and see what tranfers to your finger tip. Still not isolating the problem? Suggest compression or leak down test. Compression gauges are reasonable and easy to get. I have seen cheap compression gauges spill there guts inside of the motor when the engine is hot. Let it cool some. The throttle should be held open when checking the compression. Compression should be about 130-140 psi and about 10% or less difference between the cylinders of a healthy engine.
