2009 V Star 950 Tourer ?

I am looking at picking one of these up in the near future, but I figured before I drop the money on the table I should throw out the question to the masses...

Any good?

I know it's a new model, I just figured it was probably based off of an older model. Does anyone have any input about this bike? Good, bad, or the usual if it feels right buy it?

I have read that it is very low to the ground. Both motor Roadbike and motorcyclist did review both sead it is a good starter bike but they hit the floor board way to early for any aggresive riding at all.

I'm not too excited about the floor boards. Not a fan. I would have pegs put on.

I'm looking at the 950 or 1100 lines and this one just popped up and looked pretty good for the money. Gonna go test ride some on Monday.

I am going to try to test ride in the spring if I can but I conted it off my list I like the twistys to much. My sure give us a ride review.

The more I read about it, the less I like. Brake in the floor board? I mean, come on.

I have a few different bikes to ride Monday. I'll give this one a go and a few other 950 to 1100 class.

So I take it no one else has looked at these.

The '08 1100 and 1300 models are dirt cheap, but being a new rider I don't want to step up to a 1300 yet. That's a lot of motor for a rookie. The 1100 has a carburetor not fuel injected, not a fan.

Since I can't get any info on the 950, how about the 1100's?

Like I said, not a fan of a carburetor on a motorcycle, but what do I know. Never owned a bike before.

I have an 08 V1100 Custom and I love it. Hate to see it go away at the end of this model year.
