Cool exhaust ideas

I've read in many places that people want to make their yamaha cruisers (venture xvz1200 for me) sound more like a Harley. Well with the stock exhaust that just cant be, you can take the mufflers off, but at higher rpms it still sounds too high pitched to be a Harley-sounding-exhaust. I was thinking, as I sometimes do at work (it just gets so monotonous sometimes), wouldn't it sound that much closer to that coveted harley sound if every cylinder had its own pipe. Then I thought about backpressure, and if I gave the pipes the same length for every cylinder and the same size pipe as stock would that solve that or would i even have to worry about backpressure. I've taken small engines class back in high school but that was just basic stuff. Any clue anyone?
