I've ridden both, and the Honda seemed faster because of the higher revs. (the Ducati redlines at 9000) However, when I'm on the Monster, and my buddy is on his Hornet, I'm faster. I'm 6'160lbs. - the guy I ride with is a little heavier, possible why I can take him out of the turns. The new S2R is available with1000cc's now also. So it should be quicker than my 800. Styling wise, - very similar, but I'll take the Ducati. As for parts, service and mods, the Honda would be the way to go.I ride 2 up on the Monster all the time, My girlfriend is 5'11'and she's plenty comfortable out back for about 2 hours at a time.
