Does anyone remember this math-based educational program from the 1980s?

In the show, a kid solved math problems in order to foil the plots of some sort of feudal overlord in another dimension. I believe the kid rode an exercise bike in order to travel to this dimension. The evil overlord was a large man who wore sunglasses and who rode around in the sidecar to a motorcycle driven by his thin, bumbling henchman. Somehow I feel like special gloves were also involved.I remember watching this show at school, probably in 1987-88. The show was neither Mathnet nor Math Patrol.
