Default Is it possible to ride a motorcycle in winter?

Just what it says. If you dress warm, have warm gloves, drive carefully etc. Is it possible to keep riding your motorcycle even in the winter? Have any of you pulled it off?

Winter in Southern California is not like winter in other regions, so I can only comment on how it is riding when it is in the upper 30s. Brother, it's cold. Even if you think you have dressed warm, that cold air hitting you straight on will find every gap in your clothing and go straight to your skin. But it is quite possible if you dress for it. Riding in rain or snow, or when the road is icy is probably not such a good idea, but if the conditions are dry, I don't see why you couldn't ride.

It's possible, not very safe, but it's possible. On slipery roads or heavy snow forget it or you will end up in the hospital or worst.

As long as the streets are clear of ice and snow, I can ride anytime. I have electrically heated hand grips and seats on my BMW, and also have a heated vest that I wear under my riding jacket and insulated pants. Two years ago in Northern Idaho, I did a 100 mile ride on Christmas day,. It was about 36 degrees, with bright sunshine and the roads were clear. The coldest ride I can remember was a group ride in February. The Time&Temp sign at the bank across the street said it was 14 degrees when we started out.

Yes, If your insurance is coverage. If nice weather. okay. If cold day. watch out for sleet of ice.I had rode my 1977 Yamaha RD400. Did rode below 25 degree with dry roads. And my feet go into cylinders to keep my feet warm. It helps There is no law for motorcycle to drive in winter. No cop stop me for riding my bike in cold days.Great experience. But when you done riding. You want to have a cup of hot coco.
