What motorcycle is right for me?

Im 18, 6', 175 and I lift weights 4 out of 7days. I almost bought a HD Sprint from a family friend but it would've been too expensive to restore. Money is an issue, oh, and I have only ridden on the back. My dad, 6'4"250, had a honda vtx 1800 that was intense. Im just going to use it for cruising, I live on Pensacola Beach, I love driving down the coast, but my suburban just doesnt give me what I need. Please help!
