Carb problems on 81 cb 900 Custom

Recently removed airbox and installed 4 individual air pods in it's place. Removed the baffles and made it more or lessd a straight exhaust. Re did the jets so that prime are 135 secondary 100 Still having running problems. Used 1 gal of gas t o go 10 miles and backfiring. Have tried all combinations does anyone out who races know what the jets and settings should be. Can't seem to get it straight,
