Default Do I keep my Honda CBR 125R or pay an extra £1,500 for the new Kawasaki Ninja 250R?

I bought myself a Honda CBR a few months ago (my first bike) and have my test next month, i'm now looking for something with a little more power so I can use it for Motorway journeys and just generally more fun.

I would keep the CBR125R. I have had the opportunity to ride both. The Ninja 250R is ok, but I always felt that the CBR125R was still quicker off the line.Plus, I heard it's really difficult to find a Ninja 250R right now. AT least it is where I live. Both are cool for what they can do, but ultimately, buy the one (or keep) the bike that is going to make you happiest. Riding on a machine you don't like ruins the feeling. Don't we ride because of the way it makes us feel?Think about it...Goodluck!

Go for the ninja, The engine is twice as big and hence working half as hard. As a bonus it will be brand new and under warranty for two or three years which means pretty hassle free biking.the ninja engine has also been around a long time and has no major issues. The old ZZ-R250 and GPX250 used the same engine and those were great bikes. I actually did a tour of Scotland on a ZZ-R250 and, considering its small engine, it did brilliantly.Just don't use motorways until you pass your test!

I have both, and can tell you that they are both excellent machines, but there is a huge difference in power and torque between them, so unless you are really confident, I'd stick to the cbr for a while after passing your test. (good luck on that, by the way!)The cbr is a wicked little bike, economical and skinny enough to weave in and out of traffic...my boyfriend has a zx6r and I often leave him miles behind on his'tank'as he just cant squeeze where I can!The zxr250 is a lot heavier, with a smaller turning circle, and is much more suited to motorway or long distance riding than city traffic, plus it has a more'hunched over'riding position (as all sports bikes do) so you'll end up getting backache if you ride for long distances.Saying that, the new zxr250s are gorgeous, and in my opinion, really reasonably priced considering how they look and ride.I use the cbr for getting to and from work as it hardly seems to use any petrol!- and the zxr only comes out when I want a blast to the coast or generally be a bit of a show off (sorry!) as people often think its a much bigger bike...When you pass your test, take a test ride on a new zxr and see what you think..at the end of the day its entirely your decision.Good luck and happy biking!
