Good Buy? GSX-R 600?

looking to buy my first bike so i found this..2003 Suzuki GSX R-600 with 1050m on it, the seller said hes the first owner and only rode iton the weekends till he broke his back (cant ride anymore) all it needs he says is a new battery (he will change)so is $5,000 for it good or bad?most likly its gona need a tune-up but thats cheap and I'd have a like-new bike? for half the price of a new one?let me know what you think

I'd definitely ride it around first before you buy it and find out there's something terribly wrong with it. Hope this helps.
