I have one. Speeking from experience, if you are not absolutely certain what you are doing...take it to someone who does. I installed mine myself. Had everything done, lowered the tank and didn't realize I had pinched the fuel line. Cylinders had to be redone (nikasil sp?) and pistons replaced :s:

dmkx3. I can tell you this, a 1K with a turbo is VERY wheelie prone. Depending on what you want to do with the bike and what your ultimate goals are should help you decide which bike is right for you. I sold my ZX12 and bought the G1K and never looked back. By the way, I'm originaly from Birmingham, MI. Do you ever get up to Royal Oak in the summer. I have Buddies back home that don't ride but just go to the bars. They tell me alot of nice bikes gather there. Hardly anyone rides around here. My dad used to own a machine shop in Warren called A.G. Davis Gauge. I might bring my bike and visit family in the spring.

yeah we [the wife and i] go to royal oak alot. she has her own bike [she's getting a new 10r]. my last bike was a 12r also, we had a garage fire last fall so it's time to go shopping. if your are ever out this way let me know when and where you will be staying and we can get together for a ride. where at in warren? i live at 13 mile and hoover. been there about 7 years. i just want a fast bike, one that won't be easily beat!!!! mostly hiway speed from 2nd or 3rd gear on up.

I'm from 14 mile and Woodward. Rogers Roost is out your way isn't it? I hope to get there in the spring. Anything with a turbo on it and you should not have anything beating you unless they have one as well. If you get a chance, check out superkaos.com
You can see my bike under "Project Jimi Motor"

rogers roost is about 1mile or so away. nice pics. how long to install the turbo. i hope to make-up my mind soon. then i can order the turbo kit. they say about 4-6 weeks to ship a kit. there are a few turbos running around here but it's getting harder to tell them apart from the stock bikes!!!

It took me about 10 hours of not knowing what I was doing. I got everything right except I unknowingly pinched a fuel line. Took it to the track, made two passes, starved for fuel and fried #3 piston. The dead give aways are the airfilter on the left side of the bike and If they have a dump pipe you'll see and hear it.

i'm looking at either the velocity kit or there's a kit out by the motor head. he lives in cleveland, OH. he's alot cheaper than velocity, but i don't know anything about him. what kit do you have? is the rest of your motor stock? how much horsepower do you have? i guess the big concern that i have is how the bike fits me[busa or gix1k] i am 6' 3" and weigh 230lbs.
