Default Is it a good idea to own a Yamaha R6?

I have ridden only 100cc and150cc bikes frequently for over 2-3 years ..i really want to buy a yamaha R6. I have confidence in myself that i can tame the beast. But, i need expert advice in this situation. What do you have to ask..Thank You

you need the hands on approch...buy it and ride it on a closed carpark/road....it will only go as fast as you want it to...

Depends on your weight and size, too. Yes, it's a quick bike. Yes, your hand controls the power. Yes... you will get used to the power and want more than 600cc. 750cc or bigger is the way to go, in my opinion. My first bike was a 750cc and in a week, I was used to it and wanting more.

look at the FZ6 insteadthe FZ6 uses the same engine as the R6, except its tuned down to lower rpm's for normal highway speedsbut the FZ6 is no weakling either, they have a top speed of 140 mph and does the 1/4 mile in 11 secondsthe FZ6 will be half the the price to insure and it has a more comfortable seating postion

I'd have to agree with 2 of the men who said yes. I don't think i'd go from a 150 up to a 750. i own a fzr 600 and it's all the power and quickness i need. its toned down from a R6 but its still a sport bike, no doubt. I would check out the R6S too, its styled almost exactly like an R6, a little bit cheaper, and it's the same engine, just slightly toned down.
