Default I have a 2002 yamaha R6 that revs around 3-4000 RPM at idle sometimes.

IT does stay around the 1000 rpm where it should be sometimes but it seems to jump when the bike has been running and it warms. I notice it jump rpm when warmer more than when it is cold. I did have them remove the spring (wire) that goes to the throttle but it still does it. Could it be a sensor doing that? What can be causing it to jump like that? I can fix the problem by letting the clutch go slow and let the bike move and quickly pull it back again. Anyone had this issue?

Sounds like a bad diaphragm in one or more of you carbs... pull them off and open them up, make sure the diaphrams are not worn out, ripped or cracked. The diaphragm is a black rubber boot inside the carb that uses internal pressure to control the slide, and needle.. if it is leaking it wont operate right, and will cause the RPMS to raise... when you are letting off the clutch slowly, dropping the RPMS, you change the vaccuum or internal pressure..and that may be kicking the boot back to working again...until it messes back up and sticks.Pull the carbs off and check them, I bet you find one in bad shape.
