I am planning to purchase a new motorcycle from a dealership near my college after taking the MSF course. Preferably I am looking at a Kawasaki Vulcan 500 LTD (2007-2005ish). I decided to go with a new bike, since I have the dealership guarantee and not really have to worry about wear and hidden dammage. I have never purchased a vehicle in my life and I want to know a few things about the whole purchasing procedure so that I don't sound like a sucker when it comes to the big day:-Can I negotiate the MSRP price/price on the tag-If I do not have the lump sum value, am I restricted to the dealership's payment plan or is it flexible (ie does it have to be $X deposit with $X. per month ir is it variable?)-Info on warranty, guarantee-Do I get a test ride before purchaseSorry if that is a lot to ask, but thanks for your advice!

If this is your first bike, you should start out with a used one so that you can learn all about the pitfalls of motorcycle ownership. Then when you want to get rid of it, you don't take such a beating.Other than that, you can negotiate the price just like anything else. Arm yourself with knowledge of what other dealers are charging, even if they're 200 miles away. If you can save $500, riding or trucking the bike back won't cost you that much.
