I'm in Chicago, and I have AAA for my auto insurance. They are, by far and away, the cheapest in my area. I shop around every 6 months to keep them honest and noone comes close. Not sure what the people you are insuring driving record is like, but assuming it is good, you should check into it.Unfortunately, AAA does not insure Motorcycles. I use Progressive to insure my'95 Kawasaki Vulcan. I would go with either Geico or Progressive, whichever is cheaper. If your bike is an'83, then the insurance should be dirt cheap if you get liability only. They ask for SS# so that they can check your credit. Insurance companies believe that the better your credit score, the more responsible you are. The more responsible you are, the better driver you are. There have been a lot of studies on this and Insurance companies buy into it.Not all companies require the SS# for a quote, but many do.These days, with the price of cars and going to the hospital, You will want at least 100,000/300,000 (individual/accident) liability with $50,000 in property damage protection and uninsured motorist protection. You will not need to worry about a deductible if you get liability only, but if you do get full-coverage, a $500 deductible is good. Also, for future reference, if you ever get a newer car, you will need to look into your coverages again and consider full-coverage.Good Luck
