Default Dairyland insurance company for motorcycle?

How can they issue me registration over the phone? I'm located in Michigan and the local office has a different price then what I was quoted over the phone. Over the phone I pay $168, the office said it would be $330. I don't feel uncomfortable getting insurance over the phone but looks like I may have to. Is this okay to do and has anyone else done this before?Geico doesn't insure motorcycles in Michigan and Progressive coverage is $199 for no liability.I called progressive and they are $199, Dairyland is $168 so guess I will be going with them since I've never heard of anyone having problems with them. Plus I'm getting no fault anyway.

I had Dairyland Insurance for years and always had exceptionally good prices. Never had to file a claim so I don't know how they are in that respect.

Dairyland is fine. If you buy the policy directly from the company you quite often will get a better price than if you were to buy it locally-your local broker has got to say in business.

Also, check out GMAC insurance.

Smile DIffernece of Motorcycle Insurance online, byphone or by agent

Yes, you can get insurance cheaper by phone because you ar typically not paying for talking to an agent. But the rates should not be that different. I have seen a $25 to $60 difference depending on the coverage. For Liability Insurance only, there probably should be no difference.

Sometimes the agent, if they do not do a lot of motorcycle insurance policies, doesn't know all the ins and outs and may not realize all the discounts and how they work.
The worse thing I have seen is that agents do not make sure every year that their customer is getting the best deal and that they have as many discounts possible.

The advantage you have to using an agent is that you typically always deal with the same person and not whomever is maning the phone that day at the company.
the best way to find a good agent is to ask your local fellow bikers who they use.
The advantage to going online or by phone is you may save money.

Hope this helps you out.

and , yes, in case you have not realized, I am an motorcycle Insurance agent
