Power supply in different countries?

Actually i'm from MalysiaThinking of buying a hair dryer from US, Conair Infiniti 213X.But the power supply of the hair dryer is 110-125 V, 60Hz.And is running on 1875 watt.My country is using 230-240V, 50HzElectrician in my place says i need to buy a power inverter( some sort of transformer) that could power up til 3500watt to use it, but it cost bout RM500++.The transformer is also very big and bulky.Any suggestion on how can i use it in my country?I'm finding a cheap alternative way of using it.Maybe a universal travel power adapter or etc.But must be able to power the 1875 watt hair dryer.Thx a lot.

The most economical and practical option is to buy a hair dryer that runs on 240V.Australia uses 240V and we have just about everything that USA has... so perhaps buy an Australian one.
