1995 kx125 clutch problem?

i have a 1995 kx125. i just rebuilt the engine. i put a newcrank in all new seals and gaskets. once put back together i fired it upand it runs great. when i was in nuetral and i pulled in the clutch inoticed it dragged or wanted to stall in nuetral. when i try to put itin first gear the lever goes down but it does not go into gear unless irev it a little or mess with it. when it does go in it does not bang orlunge. it goes in and you cant even tell except the lever does not godown so you know it is in first. once riding it is fine in all gearsand no problem going to first once riding.i also noticed it is hard topush in nuetral, so i took apart the clutch and the inner hub was hard tospin and when i was messing with it it seemed to free up. i pulled offthe basket and verified all washers were in place, and when i put itback together it spun free. i verified all gears and the all engagefine.i put it all back together and i did notice that the driveplates are burned and probably warped. after all back i get the sameissue.doesnt matter how far out i adjust the cable.when you roll thebike and pull in the clutch the outer pressure plate does release, but itstill spins the clutch.is this just a drive plate issue or any otherideas??

My 98 KX250 did the same thing. I knew that the clutch basket was ridged and my springs were weak. After it warmed up it was Business as usual. I recommend replacing the clutch basket and clutch springs. If your clutch drive hub looks worn at all, I would replace that also. KX's are known for cold clutch surge.
