Default What is the best way to crack the case on a Kawasaki kx250 without the special tool?

I have a 98 Kawasaki KX 250. The motor has been dropped and and all I have to do now is crack the case to replace what I believe is the main bearing. Tips?

Remove"every"part of the engine so all you have is a crankshaft and crankcase. With a"dead blow"hammer (plastic with metal shot inside) hit the crank&main shaft of the transmission (the clutch was mounted to it).Or you can use a heavy hammer with a block of wood so you don't damage the transmission or crankshaft ends.It will help if someone could hold the right crankcase.

You said that right. Without the tool, you WILL CRACK the case.if it wasnt required, no factory would make it, let alone sell it.
