2002 Suzuki SV650s will not start.?

Garaged for 7 months, upon return and purchase of new battery, bike will not start. No clicking sound or any sound at all when trying to start. Have tried in neutral, in 2nd gear rolling, with side stand up and down. What else could I try or should i look for. I talked to a mechanic and he told me to try the solenoid(touching the two bolts with a pair of pliers at the same time causing a spark) but i do not know how to locate the solenoid. Help.12 NOV-So im not sure what the deal is, but i went out again, just rolled her back and forth, rocked her, turned the wheel a few times, then tried to start and it fired up. ran it a few minutes then turned her off. then tried to restart her but no luck. she wont start everytime i try to. i have tried to narrow it down to what gets it to fire but i havent had any luck. i removed the spark plugs and the ends where black. i figured since i had them out to just replace them either way. hopefully that was the issue. but if not, any other ideas?
