Are motorcycle boots with leather soles OK?

I have a pair of Belstaff motorcycle boots with leather soles and a metak kick plate. I was just wondering what are the disadvantages of having leather soled boots?Thanks

bikers have been wearing cowboy boots for a while.i would rather have a leather sole then a steel shank that once bent may hold it's shape.goodluck

I ride in cowboy boots often, but the biggest issue I found with leather soles is that if you start and stop a lot, the leather sole boots need resoling more often from the abrasion of the asphalt. Other than that, no big problems.

I'd go with traction. Shanks are good, not bad.

Leather is slippery. You can get cowboy boots with an oil resistant sole.

If it's a factory sole it was good enuff for them and they have QC.Motorcycle boots are better than any other for there use, they are designed to be removed by others.
