Are you sure that it is a RM50 of that year? I can"t find the rm but I do find a JR50. If yours is a jr the seal is inside the bearing on the clutch side so the cases will have to be split to change the seal. This design was fairly common with small bikes of this era. mrcycles.com has very good parts lookup and diagrams to comfirm this. good luck. Paul

Tazzymoto, bad design for sure but common, it provides positive lube for the r/s main bearing( trans oil). Usually the bearing is retained by the casting of the case itself or a snap ring or a plate that bolts over the brg. I found the correct parts drawing for the rm50 and it uses a plate over the brg with the seal inside it. the bearing is usually a press fit in the case so it requires heat to remove it. the bearing being buried flush makes it very difficult to remove even with the retainer plate removed.
