Howdy. I just picked up an 80 GS550L. I took off the carbs to clean them. I just bought the bike and know nothing about it. It no longer has the air box on it has little k&Ns for each carb. With the carbs off I realized that there are two tubes that don't have a hose connected to them. Does anybody know what they are? Should I block them off? Also the tube coming out of the fuel tank at the part with the wires(I believe it is the fuel sender) doesnt have a hose on it maybe they are connected? I think I noticed fuel coming from them when I was futsing around with the carbs but I could be wrong. I have included a picture to show the tubes. My manual was no help. Maybe there is a Suzuki guru who can help me out.
Just put the normal jargin in front of these 3 addresses. It wont let me post urls until i get my post count up. forum.motorcycle-usa.com/attach.aspx/11742/closeup.jpg forum.motorcycle-usa.com/attach.aspx/11741/closeup1.jpg forum.motorcycle-usa.com/attach.aspx/11740/wholecarb.jpg |

They could be vents for the float bowls if there aren't vent hoses on the float bowls. Also another thing they could be is part of a PCV system that got ditched with the airbox. If thats the case then I would block them off.
I'm not exactly sure.Sorry. These guys might be able to help you. http://www.thegsresources.com/index.htm |

I'm bored, what can I say? Now I got to go to work.
![]() It says that they are a vent. Here are pics of the rest of the carb goodies. http://www.thegsresources.com/gs_carbrebuild.htm Its for an 850 but your carbs look almost identical to the 850 carbs. |
