Default Oil leak

Does anyone know if the engine has to be removed in order to remove the oil pan to replace the gasket on a 2001 Suzuki Katana 600?

I doubt you have to remove the engine but I'm not sure. probably have to remove a good bit of the lower fairings.

Once I get some time, I'll investigate it further. I'm actually hoping that it's one of the oil cooler lines being loose, but until I can actually spend some time on it I won't know. Expecting the worst, I put the feelers out for the pan gasket. Thanks again.

Default Oil leak

Now that Baseball and Soccer are over, I am done being the dad taxi and got some time. I pulled the lower cowel and it appears that the Fram oil filter that I installed at the beginning of the season has a faulty gasket. It was tight, but still leaking. Replaced it, washed all the oil off and ran it. No problems so far. Strange, I filled it, oiled the gasket and cleaned the area on the engine before installing it like I do with all my vehicles. I've never had a problem with Fram before. Regardless, it was much easier than I estimated (That's a first). Thanks.
