Default Removing stock pipes

I have a 97 shadow spirit vt 1100 I replacing the stock pipes with some hard-krome strippers. I started monkeying with removal but they (the heat sheild covers) don't seem to want to come off any one have any suggestions I removed the 3 allen wrench connections and the 2 bolts on the bottom it appears that the oil casing isn't letting one of the clamps loose so I removed the front footpeg but didn't seem to free anything up it did however make it difficult to get the brake assembly back on by my self. Any suggestions
