Im looking to buy a 83 1100 but im a little concerned about it being too much bike to start out with. I'm 31 and mature but am aware of the power of this bike. My Dad ran a Honda/Suzuki dealership when I was growing up, and I have always loved these bikes. I used to sit and daydream about riding them.
What are you comments on a new rider with limited dirt bike experience. I am 6'2 and weigh 290. Thanks |

I would call you crazy and other names if you bought an 1100 as a first bike, but since it is the GS 1100 I will be a lot nicer. The inline 4's on these bike make the 1100 a smooth ride. I think with little dirt bike experience this bike would probably have it's way with you a couple times, to prevent these times from being too serious I would take rex's advice and enroll yourself into a MSC (Motorcycle Safety Course).
