hi, I'm looking forward my first bike and I would like some advice from you guys.
I could buy a '94 suzuki RF600. Is it too much for me ? I've read some reviews on the internet but I'd like to hear yours ? thx |

It's also a 94. The bike is fast, but the newer model 600's are definitely faster than that bike. I would think that it would be ok to learn on. It's an older bike so if you lay it down it won't be all that bad compared to a new bike.

hi, thanks for the replies.
I have question, are you sure it's 100+ HP. My friend told me that it was OK mainly because it had "only" 80 HP. I'll go check right now just for sure. edit : the bike I might buy is a RF600 not RF600 R edit 2 : I can't find RF600 "without R" . it seems that the guy who sells it forgot to mention it was R rated :P also, I called my insurance company and they asked me if it was R or not (like they had both listed), I said not R and she said fine. |

I could buy a '94 suzuki RF600. Is it too much for me ? I've read some reviews on the internet but I'd like to hear yours ? thx It all depends on what kind of person you are. Me personally had no problem learning on a 600rr, but that's just me. Everyone is different. If you're really interested in a 600 as your first you have to ask yourself a few questions. Are you impulsive, impatient, hot headed, or just don't trust yourself to be responsible. If the answer is yes to any of these, don't get a 600 for you first bike. Just my 2 cents. :) |

Some people have learned on these and did fine, others have painfully failed. I would recommend a more forgiving bike to learn on. The learning process will be quicker, easier and safer.
+1. My brother wanted to get a 600cc only coz he liked the looks, i convinced him to get a Ninja 250 and now he is very happy with it. |

According to that, its 100 HP at 11500 RPM. I find it funny how people say "oh, it's an older bike, so its okay to learn on." 100 HP is still 100 HP, no matter if its 1 year old or 10 years old. They were the super sports of their day, and the age of the bike has no bearing on whether its a good starter bike or not. If they were designed for experienced riders then, what makes you think they are any more suitable to new riders now? |
