are you asking stock EFI vs. stock Carb'ed?

if so, i would assume they would be the same type of maintenance for both. EFI should be more efficient, but i don't think it necessarily means less maintenance

Would think so...don't hear to much about cleaning injectors but cleaning carbs is very common

No more or less maintenance on either. Personally, I'd rather have carbs. Call me old school but I can crack a rack and diagnose what's wrong.

Carbs have to by synced as do TBs.

Beyond the normal shaft wear and such, there will be less maintanence. You shouldn't ever even have to touch the EFI at all.

Hmm I'm getting conflicting answers here.

You gotta synch both regularly, correct?

Carbs needs to be cleaned periodically, but that can be done via some fuel additive, correct?

Don't an FI system also need regular cleaning? (I've seen additive for that too before)

Clean carbs? Only if they sit.

You do no not have to dump in money wasting injector cleaner. If most cars will go 100's of thousands of miles without it, I am sure a bike can go 20,000 miles without it...

I have 60,000 trouble free miles on my carbs. I love them, but I'd like an injected bike in my garage. Less stink, since injectors don't have bowls that evaporate.
